Covid-19 Testing

I’m curious how many pilots have/are getting tested? If there are a large number that have been tested in the last week; I am guessing more pilots will have positive results due to so much more exposure than the average American.

Testing after showing symptoms?

I've been curious of this as well. Do we have any confirmed cases of pilots or flight attendants contracting it?

We can lysol wipe the flight deck all day long but the office is still disgusting. Hell, most guys share headsets, that's cant be in the CDC guidelines.

Rumors of a FA at SWA and something like 5 pilots at AA with confirmation.

I'm glad someone brought this up. While we worry about our jobs, we also need to worry about our health. I think we all need to get tested. My international travel has not stopped, and I certainly don't want my elderly family getting it. I had an overnight in my home town a couple days ago and my family told me to go stay at the hotel. Cool Now I'm staying holed up in my hotel while I order Uber Eats because everything is closed and the hotel is only serving fried food to go. It's getting expensive!

But yes. While my company's union has given us the CDC guidance to wash our hands and stay away from people, they should be doing more about getting us tested. Other than health care workers, and hotel house keepers, we are very much at risk. The sooner case numbers start decreasing, the sooner we can get back to some sense of normalcy.

I've heard people say things like "We have a billion zillion FAs who work with the public every day and none of them have COVID-19. What are you worried about?" This is just invulnerability HA.

Now I'm hearing rumors that an FA at United tested positive this morning. I won't pass details from other social media because it's unconfirmed and I don't want to dox anyone. Just watch the news and company comms. Look out for yourself and each other.

Guys 99% of the country has not been tested, China didn’t report it for two months, most likely most of us have had it, and it’s likely been here since late last fall. If you are sick stay home. That’s all we can do.

I swear my family and I had it after we visited Disney world in December... we were sick for like 2/3 weeks and couldn’t get better but kept getting a negative flu test.

Yeah, I had a horrible cough around Thanksgiving. Bad enough I didn’t go eat with my family. I’m betting that was it. A lot of friends had similar colds that wouldn’t go away for sometime.
