Honestly, you just don't see much debate over gun laws here. I can't recall any major ballot propositions regarding guns that people have been asked to vote on. Most of the laws (and they are frequently ridiculous, and poorly written) are simply dreamed up in Sacramento and then passed by the Democratic supermajority. It irks me, but here's how I look at it.
First, nobody really needs a semiautomatic assault rifle. As we have seen all too many times, they're all too easy for deranged people to take many lives with. I mean, would we be comfortable allowing truck-mounted M60s? I doubt it. For hunting, a long rifle works just fine. For home self-defense, a shotgun is the weapon of choice. Maaaaayyyyybe a handgun, if you're trained and proficient with small arms in close quarters (maybe 1 percent of handgun owners are.) And for general target practice and proficiency, handguns are great.
I just don't see why anyone needs an AR-15 with a 20 round mag.
That said, the California laws are often so poorly written that it's clear they were written by people who've never been around guns.
Anyhow. While there are certainly plenty of people in CA who think guns should be banned, they are by far the minority. When Obama was elected, all we heard for years was that he was going to 'take our guns'. His administration suggested nothing of the sort.
Now, off to stock up on some buckshot for the coming flupocalypse. If everything goes south fast, ammunition will be the currency of the land, along with food, water, medical supplies, and alcohol. I should've built that bunker in Idaho while I still had the chance :-0

Law abiding citizens of VA were not ignorant regarding their heritage. For Gods sake their Flag says it all: motto " Sic Semper Tyrannis" – "Thus Always to Tyrants". Adopted in 1776, imagine that and the importance of that date. Flag literally has the Goddess Virtue (who is holding a sword and a spear) standing upon the King of England’s chest with his crown fallen of his head, so basically death to all tyranny or tyrants.
You mentioned “semiautomatic assault rifle” very confusing. The overwhelming millions of AR-15s are not assault rifles. An assault rifle is not black, specifically semiautomatic or scary. Automatic firearms have been severely restricted from civilian ownership. An assault rifle by definition has this capability: Selective fire - means the capability of a weapon to be adjusted to fire in semi-automatic, burst mode, and/or fully automatic firing mode.
Shotguns a very good no doubt, but your going to need more capability (an excuse for more guns) to venture East of your state border, let alone the Deep South. I do like your Idaho Bunker endeavor, your coming around very nicely.
Well, maybe I’m wrong - Biden said go for the “double barreled shotgun” to his wife... 2 shots? Sorry, I need more than that when selecting a street sweeper of choice. But in a Post Apocalyptic World, Big Joe will either challenge you to pushups or beat you up outside so you do need a Black Rifle after all. “You know, that thing!” - Biden, the Declaration of Independence attempt..... and we’re right back to VA’s Flag. Off topic, but some things must be defined.

Exactly, Richmond and the surrounding areas of Fairfax dictate such efforts of regulation. Proud of those VA cities/counties for standing up for themselves and the rest of the Patriots throughout this country. If Va falls, others won’t be far behind unfortunately.

Just Curious, where do you guys get the idea from that we Americans will start shooting at each other when money runs low? When did that happen last?
So far, people in my neighborhood that we don’t even know have been knocking on our door to make sure my wife has what she needs for the baby.
