Default Bailout - Deal has been agreed upon.

Deal on the $2 Trillion Bailout package announced on the news 0300 Eastern as I sit here in New York City. Please post any information you can find relevant to your employer as you see fit. Good luck!

Had a hard time finding links discussing this most recent turn of events on the package, I assume since it occurred in the middle of the night, but this supplies a few details:

All loans or grants as well?

I’m seeing the word loans a lot, not seeing any grants...

One key thing I'm reading is the furlough protection

"The measure also includes a major boost to unemployment insurance, allowing workers who are furloughed but not laid off to be paid their regular salaries for up to four months."

Question is, does that now mean the possibility of immediate furloughs?

In the original aid package requested by the airlines, they stipulated no furloughs until September if they received the aid. Is that protection still there, plus the four months of pay, or are they now free to furlough at will?

This is great assuming travel demand rebounds this year. While this is what I hope to happen, I’m skeptical because the economic fallout from this worldwide economic shutdown is unprecedented. This bill rescues airlines from financial collapse; airlines are still going to have to ‘right-size’ their operation with travel demand... furloughs are more or less, unfortunately, inevitable.

Here’s to a speedy recovery...

CNBC saying grants, possible gov’t equity positions, I believe no layoffs for a specified period of time.

Seems the grants are earmarked for worker pay.
