One of the original purposes of the Nordschleife was as a test track for auto manufacturers, and its demanding layout had been traditionally used as a proving ground. The only production street legal Mazda that I can find that registers a lap time is the Mazda Speed3 at over 8:30 (near the bottom of the list). No MX5 ‘sporty’ car on there.
