AA's not breaking up. And you're shooting yourself in the foot by hoping that AA files ch 11. It will trigger additional airline filings. And then the man in the black robe will be giving pilots a large pay cut which will spread to every airline. If that happens, it will probably take close to a decade to get pay rates back to where they were.
Maybe someone should start a thread on how guys like you will be spending the next decade flying at the regionals.

There may be some protections for these legacy carriers. Will probably hurt smaller ones needing to merge or consolidate.

The reality is that SkyWest has the ability to underbid just about anyone in the industry for flying right now. They have a sizable war chest that was built up over the profitable past decade. They have the ability to swallow other regionals whole if they want to. The AA regionals will absolutely be for sale if it makes sense for AAG in bankruptcy.
