Working on my golf game, trying to hit the gym more, and be a good house husband for sugar mama.

Must be nice to be wealthy and privileged enough to not worry about such trivialities as mortgage payments and health insurance for your children.

I guess my parents paying my living expenses in college makes me wealthy and privileged. They would’ve paid for my tuition too (in-state only), but I got a scholarship. I paid for all my flying lessons myself while working full-time and then ate ramen while working for Great Lakes. My house is under contract now so my mortgage payments will be stopping soon if we make it to the closing. I’ve been living well below my means for years now, even though I was told I’d never have to worry about a furlough because of all the retirements. 😏

No health insurance for children. Don’t have any, don’t want any. My nieces and nephews are great.

Ha, you’re right. Don’t drink and post.

I’m on the road now with my family in a camper. I was furloughed from a Chinese Airline. In the pool at a LCC so figured I’d have many months off.
Fortunately China paid well so no immediate need to work.
We just spent two months at a lake front campsite in Alabama. My son did some part time work at the campground. There’s definitely work camping opportunities if you need a bit of cash.
I’m writing this from the parking lot of the Pyramid Bass Pro Shop in Memphis where we slept last night. Ozarks bound today. No plans beyond that.

If you were furloughed for a year or two and didn’t need to worry about getting another job while on furlough, what would you do with your time off? So far I’ve thought of these ideas, but I’m trying to add to the list.

- buy a camper and hit the road for a year
- hike the AT or PCH

While I may not be in the furlough zone, I may volunteer for a furlough/LOA to avoid the suck of a probable displacement. I figure if I do, I'll cross off bucket list items at 50 instead of 60 or 65. I've always figured I'd retire at 60 anyway, so maybe I'll take 24 months of "early retirement" and work until I am 62.

Hiking the AT and/or PCT are very high on the list actually. Been reading everything I can get my hands on about them.

Oh, and I'd probably source my brownies from my crazy neighbor instead of Kroger.

Tell you what I’d do

I’m going to raise big cats in Oklahoma. Hire only felons and meth heads to help out. Partner up with a married swinger that uses Tiger Cubs to entice young women into lurid encounters. Wait, has this been done already? I might be confusing my life with Netflix.
