All of the majors should cancel outsourced flying and take it all back in house.

I do think the legacy business model is falling apart. With more and more regionals losing the battle you’re going to see less of a whipsaw effect (Not much competitors). Which will in turn increase the costs associated to mainline. I guess you reap what you sow. The LCC and ULCC are going to thrive. The only reason legacies brought in the cash they did was because of the outsourcing. It’s going to get brutal. The seat belt sign is on, I suggest you fasten your seatbelts. Outsourcing fails. It will be in business books yet to come.

No, the legacies do two things which LLC/ULCC really don't:

1) International service
2) Small town service

It will obviously be reduced for a good while, but it will come back eventually. It's rare for people to connect on multiple (non-codeshare) airlines... for good reason, if you miss your connection due to late inbound, it's all on you. Might be some creative code-sharing, already seeing that with AA/AS/B6.

Really? Cause flying to small towns is about 90% of what Allegiant does.
