PA to Remain Vigilant over Virgin America
On May 18, the Department of Transportation gave final approval for Virgin America to begin flying within the United States. PA to Remain Vigilant over Virgin America
After an 18-month DOT review, with which ALPA was heavily involved, Virgin America agreed to make a number of key changes to its leadership and operations to satisfy U.S. law, which prohibits foreign control of U.S. airlines.
While ALPA will remain watchful to ensure that the Virgin America company abides by its agreement with the DOT, the union looks forward to collaborating with Virgin America pilots on aviation industry safety, security, and labor issues.

You're kidding? Right?
Folks need to get more involve at the local level, which is where the magic (or lack there of) happens. There is this misconception that ALPA national runs things at a local level, well they don't. ALPA national oversees issues at a broader scale...age 65, 8 hour reduce rest rule, virgin america p!ssing on our industry.
If you believe ALPA is not doing much for you and your airline, then is time to address the issue with your local leadership. Or elect a new members!

I've asked my local leaders to address somethings at the national meeting (whipsawing) and they basically blew me off and when it was over I asked what was discussed and they told me that they couldn't discuss that either. new members have since been elected and nothing has really changed from what I've seen.
I'm curious how you see virgin america p*ssing on the industry. I think they are as well in regards to compensation.
