Australia keeps shutting down entire states when they find a single positive case. Travel to and from that country is gonna be effed for quite some time if they keep up that nonsense.

It is not a respiratory virus and does not spread that way. It requires very close, essentially intimate contact to spread. Third-world hygiene and social customs are conducive to that, ours are not.
It is very dangerous if you do get it, the CFR is historically about 50% on average, although modern western medicine can probably save most patients. The silver lining there is if it did get loose, EVERYBODY would take it seriously. Ebola survivors typically suffer lingering effects... that and the CFR are crystal clear and not debatable (unlike covid).
Typically most cases here have been travelers from Africa. The few local cases were typically family members who had close contact with the patient zero. They will of course monitor anyone who's been anywhere near the bug, but unlike covid, 40 people who were "around" an ebola patient in the US probably translates to zero new cases, unless they were close family. You're not likely to spread ebola to friends and co-workers, or random strangers. Unless maybe you're a hooker.
