Dr Bill Curtis.

Located by IAH. Not “cheap” but a great guy, laid back experience and gets them in and out quick.

Highly recommend

I hear good things about Curtis but that it’s hard to get a slot. No personal experience though.

I use Randall Martin in Conroe. He gets mixed reviews but I’ve never had issues. North side. He’s retiring from normal practice but allegedly will continue FAA physicals. Haven’t confirmed that yet

Schumacher (sp) gets good reviews. South side near NASA.

The father/son Martin’s in Tomball also get mixed reviews. NW side.

Andy Davis in Conroe is a really nice guy with a great staff.

Victor Arellano on the West side (Copperfield) is also really good. He's a pilot, owned a Baron for years and does some part 91 SIC stuff.

Rosalyn Baty on the West side (Bear Creek) is also nice, she's hard to get a hold of, not a good last-minute option. She's black and a woman, as such I think I was one of the few airline guys she saw on a regular basis. Rosalyn was an American Airlines doc, up at their training center in DFW, who now mostly specializes in insurance stuff with a smattering of AME on the side.

Both Victor and Rosalyn are about a 35 minute drive from IAH, Andy is one hour plus.

If you've got something in the gray area you're hoping to avoid the AME noticing or being concerned about, Victor strikes me as probably being pretty lenient. (No personal experience, just a hunch.) Andy and Rosalyn are both right-down-the-middle sort of flight surgeons, Rosalyn does test for hearing, so avoid her unless you don't mind finding out about any hearing loss.

No idea how any of them are with special issuance, none are board certified and none attend the CAMI conferences. There's a retired Army Doc in Katy I saw once who strikes me as that kind of dude, he was pretty cool, fun to talk to and knows his way around aerospace medicine. Totally forget his name.

Dr Andy Davis had a stroke two years ago and hasn't practiced since.

According to the gouge, Dr Bill Curtis is the guy to go see but getting an appointment is a mystery. I've been trying since I stopped seeing Dr Davis but there are never any appointments open when I call or try online. He doesn't do too many flight physicals and fills up quickly.

I've been seeing Dr Randall Martin in Conroe. He's been fine but I'm not a fan of his nurse. As previously mentioned, he retires at the end of the year. He did say he's hoping to continue flight physicals though.

Curtis used to use a website for appointments, curtisame.com. Granted I haven’t seen him since I used to live there, but believe it’s the same process.

I used to go to Davis until he had his stroke, now I go to Schumacher down in Webster (NASA area). He is very easy to get in to see and low drama so far.
