I just got one and so far I'm sold! Thanks for the recommendation.

Thoughts on the waterman “expert rollerball”. I know waterman has good fountain pens but anything else is a mystery. Bought for a gift

I bought the skilcraft government pens after this thread. Got 2 different sizes. I honestly don’t like them. They feel cheap, plastic and don’t “roll” well. Sure they work as a pen yes, but not the Lexus of pens I was searching for.

my favorite hotel pen was the royal Sonesta. Smooth roll

The Skilcraft has a certain nostalgia around it from guys who used it in the service. Nice to have when you're headed to the field, for example.

Try a Parker Jotter (you'll typically find them in a half plastic and half stainless barrel, but if you can find the all-stainless that's the way to go) for $7-10. Reliable and looks good in a shirt pocket with the arrow clip. As a guy mentioned, the gel refill is nice, but I prefer the standard Parker refill. It'll also take a Fisher space pen refill if you're into that.

You guys are fancy. I use hotel pens. Been using them for 35 years now. I have yet to run out of ink.

Uni Jetstream ballpoint. Used hotel pens or Pilot G2s for years, until I got ahold of a Jetstream. Won’t be going back to
Pilot, or gel pens again.
