Merger/integration info
Since it looks like NK is merging, can any of you merger gurus ELI5 what is required as far as transition training. I remember all TRA pilots doing the full new hire routine when they went to the SWA side. Was that a regulatory requirement? Did NWA & CAL pilots go through that at DAL & UAL? Can they just homeschool it? TIA

With AA and USair they initially maintained separate ops and over a couple years transitioned each side to more and more common books (via revisions) until they were identical. At the beginning AA manuals were the standard for Boeing and MD. USair had Airbus and Embraer. After single certificate approved they continued to add commonality between the fleets. Train via memo and distance learning

Common fleet they can totally get away with a gradual transition via CBT and manual revisions prior to an eventual cutover date.
They might do a short in-person event, maybe associated with recurrent. Or not, and save the coin.

Depending on how much the acquiring carrier is hooked on their “superior KULTure”. You might be going through the full new-hire course for “assimilation” purposes.
