I’m going to hold off on seconding that motion. Pretty sure better candidates will come through soon.

I will, however, nominate this thread for ‘Most Tone Deaf of 2020’, though.

So we only look at comparison in good years for certain parts of the industry? Not tone deaf, I said some guys did well and some had rough years. The point of the thread is to see perspective of earnings at certain places and certain airplanes. This information helps those that are coming up in the industry as well as those who are looking to move to other airlines.

To be honest I didnt even do that well compared to many of my coworkers.

it doesn’t help anyone except those who want to tell people how much they made

Exactly. It’s what it is every year, a measuring contest. This year it’s in even worse taste.

If the point of this thread is, as you say, for people to figure out where they want to land when it’s time to move up to the majors, you’re implying that it’s geared toward regional guys and similar—many of whom are absolutely losing their shirts this year. Many are unemployed, struggling to feed their families or keep a roof over their head.

If the point is for major guys to compare penis length, then carry on—but own it and call it what it is...

...and in that case, we would prefer total compensation to be converted from dollars to Miatas.

This thread is in especially bad taste considering the $25B taxpayer funded bailout this year. I’m not against the bailout, it was probably necessary, but bear in mind that many folks in this country have not been so fortunate and media / other entities also visit this site.

Don’t forget how many houses you own, the length of the boat/RV, seats and horsepower of the new plane, number of exes, and kids in Ivy League schools.

...you know, all the things you tell the other pilot in flight when they pretend they’re listening.

Yah should be very informative to hear what people making this year, just out of curiosity how’s this going to help when 1/2 of us are working at Home Depot’s plumbing department? Maybe we can tell the paint department how we used to make 250k a year.

side note. Government probably watching this thread. Part of the reason why they didn’t give us money yet. They know a bunch well hung pilots are going to disclose they made 750k during the pandemic and use that as an argument that we don’t need more free cheddar.
Yup. Let’s rename the thread to. How to blow up any shot at more airline stimulus.
