I love free travel. My wife and I both signed up for the Chase Sapphire Reserve when it had the 100k bonus. With just one of the bonuses, we were able to get a free Mediterranean cruise with a balcony. Combine that with some free hotel stays from other credit cards and it was a very inexpensive trip.
Another great free money opportunity are bank sign up bonuses. Since being furloughed, i have signed up for 6. I will get $3000 from them. I almost prefer the bank sign ups since it doesn't affect you credit score (although even opening and closing cards doesn't have a large impact. Just a few points. My score is still over 800).
Sorry to high jack the thread. I love credit cards but banks are also great.

Another vote for delta Amex reserve. The voucher for a companion ticket in any class and and lounge access make it a good fit for me since I live in a delta hub.

Why would you get an airline perks card when we can all basically fly for free? If you get a branded card get a hotel card. We switched from Amex Platinum to Gold. Weren’t utilizing all the benefits of the platinum (young kid) to make up the yearly fee difference.

That's my goal. Use it instead of my debit card and then pay off monthly. Large purchases I use my Marriott CC and pay over time.

Every year both me and my spouse do whatever it takes to make Delta Diamond. Global upgrades, kids awarded Gold status, waived changes to mileage tickets, never purchase tickets for the kids and our company pays for our tickets. I don’t want to jumpseat or sit standby to go on vacation, I use airmiles tickets for my family and some friends, and Delta treats us incredibly well. We are very loyal and truly appreciate Delta.
