Because all these tests have false positives and negatives. That’s basic clinical science.

So if you are an employer, are you going to let a valued business exec go overseas where you might lose him/her for weeks of quarantine when he isn’t even sick? Or just tell him/her to zoom it?

Do you as a parent want to take your kids on a vacation, knowing that if any family member has a false positive (or, for that matter, a TRUE positive) they will be refused readmission back to their own country?

I realize some airlines are desperate for the return of international and business flying, but this seems an unlikely way to get it. In fact, it seems like it will be highly counterproductive to that goal.

This is what Hawaii has been doing for a long while now.

I don't know what load factors and total pax to and from Hawaii have been, but it seems like a way to find the answer to your question.?

Until there's massive numbers of people vaccinated, international travel will remain very low im sure

Not sure why A4A is pushing for this, I think it will just deter people from traveling internationally. I know I won’t be going anywhere out of the country. Not worth the risk of potentially testing positive and having to stay in a foreign country for an extra 2 weeks.

It needs to be arranged so you get your results before boarding time. That way if it's a fail, you just go home (and fully refundable too).

Thats only if your vacation is less than 72 hours.

We were contemplating Aruba for February vacation. We are a 100% no now. It was one thing to need a test 72 hours prior (and hope you get results in time) to go there. To then need to find a testing location for a family in Aruba 72 hours prior to our return flight and hope there isn’t a positive is a whole other story. Not even considering leaving the US now. We always go somewhere hot with a beach (it’s cold here) but this year we may just save our money as the next best option is Florida but 1: it’s not that warm now, and 2: no one actually likes Florida.

That's my issue. I like to bounce down to Mexico for a long weekend to get warm then come home. Now I wont be able to do that. I know others who do the same thing.
when are we going to stop being so afraid?
