it’s a PR move and nothing more. The demographics are what they are. It’s kinda like when we talked about how we were gonna be a bio fuel airline soon. Pure crap.

It's unfortunate when organizations change what worked with what sounded good.

Are there even 2500 woman or minority pilots out there? I know at my company I think its 2% woman and another 2% black. Not that blacks are the only minorities it's the only data they give.
what is going to be the criteria for minorities? 1/12th first people?

I’ve flown with good pilots of all sorts. Capability is not gender or ethnic based IMHO. But I’ve also seen management types push people who simply weren’t yet ready into positions where they were likely to fail because the managers thought they could further their own careers by meeting or exceeding some higher headquarters mandated diversity standard. That’s not fair to anyone, and often dangerous. Work to increase opportunity? Sure. Start tossing around numbers like 50% or any supposed litmus test for ‘good management’ and people cut corners. Cutting corners in aviation is...not good.

We don't have a diversity issue. Awarness is what really comes to mind, if anything. It surprises me how many people think being an airline pilot exclusively involves either first being in the military or going to Embry-Riddle.

I’ve seen poor candidates from both of those sources as well.

You know something? Most every news source I've looked at today has a story somewhere near the top about "United Pushing to Increase Diversity." At the same time, the couple of aviation forums I follow have at least one thread about it, if not more, with people arguing for and against "diversity."

I hate to sounds like just another tinfoil-hat wearing nutjob. However it's almost like someone, somewhere, is feeding all of this woke nonsense to the general public, in order to keep people arguing against each other, and not paying attention as to what's going on elsewhere.
