Anyone that operated into HVN ever could have predicted that

The 73 is going to have problems operating in and out of there when the wx and field conditions go down

One 5600’ runway and one ILS… not a very smart base of operations.

The damn marine layer and fog that goes right to the threshold while the meter reports severe clear is awesome too. Hill on the North side kills the other end.

UA made it work in the 80’s or 90’s and the runway was shorter then!

At the job fair yesterday (7/16/21), Avelo reported that they will use the 737-700's in HVN, to address this very concern.
They said that the -800's can do it, but it would take a penalty (rwy. ?) for the performance hit.
They're currently operating 3 a/c, with 3 more coming online very soon, and then 2 more by the end of the year... for a total of 8 B-737's in 2021.
They are "planning" on adding 10 planes each year until reaching 40 a/c. Will hire to have 85-90 seniority pilots by the end of 2021.
Future bases??? They are looking at opening a base at some point in Dallas, Houston, and somewhere in Florida.
