No, not really. E, E, and Q were subsidized to provide an exceptional product and still make money. Selling cheap tickets to try and fill an airplane is a business decision. You will either make money, break even, or lose money. The government isn't (COVID being the obvious exception) there to bail you out if your decision turns out to be a bad one.

Further roots are a name change from Casino Express which was based in Elko NV., then came the sale, relocation to Boise as Xtra, then another sale and relocation.They began as a casino junket airline.

Any updates? Hiring?

According to their social media they are flying 9 routes a day and getting 3 more aircraft next month for a total of 6 737-800's.

They are owned by AerSale, a big MRO company.
