Default Logbook Interview Questions

For those who have interviewed with the big boys in your logbook Did you log and put in the remarks all the approach types you did? Or did you just log and not out anything in the remakes for what type of approach it was?

I have and continue to indicate if an IAP was conducted for currency purposes I/A/W §61.57 recent flight experience: Pilot in command. Approach type is not required.

And 61.51 says

3) For the purposes of logging instrument time to meet the recent instrument experience requirements of §61.57(c) of this part, the following information must be recorded in the person’s logbook—

(i) The location and type of each instrument approach accomplished; and

(ii) The name of the safety pilot, if required.

Currency for instrument approaches? The only thing to log in 121 world is landings and block time. Going to recurrent training covers everything else.

I had approaches logged for my last USAF assignment … so high fidelity data for the past 3 years or so.

I don’t know that anyone at United, Delta, or SWA really looked that closely at it.

I’ve seen guys log one year on a line and still get a job. Not saying it’s the best or right but it is what it is. The fancy tabs and graphs and summaries are all bonus points. Nothing can hurt.
