According to an American Airlines employee you could try flying with Spirit if you don’t want to wear a mask.

No, if you watch the video, it was about flying spirit if you want to use foul language.

Huh that’s interesting. I’ve never seen Spirit put up with foul language either...they usually kick you off too.

It wasn't a factual statement. It was more of a subtle dig that people who behave like that usually fly spirit. Like, "you're low class trash. Maybe try spirit."

I think it was an honest suggestion. That Spirit has many flights to south Florida and walk up fares can be generally very cheap.

I have heard Spirit agents gives suggestions to fly American after a customer demands a refund. I always wonder how the travel story ends after getting their $75 back from Spirit and having to pay the $400 walk up fare at another airline…

I saw that in person once. A family was upset their flight from LAS was delayed for 2 hours. They demanded a refund and wanted to fly SWA instead. They got their refund.

1 hour later they were back complaining again to the same agent, wanting their old tickets back. Apparently SWA walkup fare was clearly more but the best part was that SWA flight was now running more delayed than the LAS Spirit flight was. So glad they didn’t give them their seats back, as we were oversold.

At this point it seems airline management, due to full flights, and the unions (Alpa Afa) lobby efforts are keeping this thing going. The good news is it should end soon as airlines can’t get ramp employees to load airplanes when it’s 110 degrees and they have to wear a mask.

Unfortunately I think your right. I am going to start letting my Alpa/congressional reps know it’s becoming hard to manage.

Why is ALPA lobbying for masks? I haven’t seen that in any communication but I could be wrong. If anything it causes us nothing but issues.

I haven’t seen a ramper in a mask anywhere in the country recently for what it’s worth.

Spirit CEO, along with Frontier CEO spoke at a conference a few weeks back and remarked that the majority of disturbances on planes are mask related and it is time to revisit the masks on planes mandate.

Spirit CEO has pretty much said masks are gone once Feds end the mandate.

Everyone wants them gone.
