C’mon man this thread is so entertaining. Let them continue ranting about how great it is wherever they are. And how those darned crusty Delta and Southwest guys never give em the respect they deserve.

I never applied at SWA as it didn’t fit what I wanted, so I think that answers your question.

It’s not about “respect we deserve” but rather no need to disparage someone’s employer. Keep in mind, most of these stories start from unsolicited engagement, so it is often the “crusty” captains that are saying how great they have it.

Only one airline is worth working for. It's called "Industry Standard Air".

Everyone always wants an "industry standard" contract, but can never explain what it is.

So yes, every other airline sucks, except ISA! Wonder if they are hiring.

Is that taking the best of all contracts and putting them together? And yet no individual contract has all those pieces.

In my limited experience, 99.999% of airline guys do not "care" who you are working for. Nobody really picks the airline, the airline picks you.

A guy from Orlando, whose wife teaches school in Orlando, and whose mom is in a Orlando nursing home, and he is an FO at JetBlue, with Orlando base, probably is not applying to FedEx or United.

Yup.

Almost all majors provide a good living these days, and not everybody is in a hurry top sacrifice QOL or other life considerations for even more money. That said, if you're young and unencumbered, focus on the top tier.

On the flipside, I once had a Southwest captain tell me I wasn't Southwest material because if I was, I would already be working there. And I never even asked about hiring or anything!
