CRAF is Activated
Only third time (previously Gulf-I and Gulf-II). Tactical lifters will still get folks out of AF, CRAF will then carry them from safe regional airports to CONUS.

One would LIKE to think that with all the fleet changes, parked aircraft, dearth of international flying, long term leaves, and expired training problems caused by the pandemic, someone would have kept track and all those CRAF aircraft would still be available and fully staffed with crews.
I’s really LIKE to think that, but I wouldn’t bet a single shot of grappa that’s actually the case.

TRANSCOM has been doing a quarterly seminar to address CRAF readiness, I know they've been keeping tabs and coordinating with the airlines during covid. I'm sure the planes they called up were known to be available.
And if the planes were not available,they would cancel/delay/downgrade scheduled service to make those planes available if needed.
