It’s one of life’s great mysteries. I’ve never found an answer.

In some places they come from staffing agencies... legal immigrants who kind of get funneled in that direction.

right. Then I can give $1 to the guy that shows up at the airport having to wear a mask because I want to. Options are a good thing. Reminds me of the complainers come contract voting time. Why did we negotiate that provision? Because it cost nothing and if you don’t like it simply don’t bid for it. Options are a good thing. Some pilots like it.

That makes sense, the fast food workers are probably all from the same agency. Ever since 9/11 they have to pass background checks, that could be an issue with low paying jobs.
I've seen a "Jack-in-the-Box" fast food place near me with a sign out offering $15/hr for help. And CLT is a fairly low cost of living city.

As a taxpayer, I’d sure like to hear the CEO explanations. For over a year, we heard the airlines and the unions begging for taxpayer handouts, when other people were just getting pumped up unemployment benefits, the airlines needed billions of dollars to pay people full or close to full salary plus benefits....so when demand came back, they’d be ready to meet the need. Well surprise, as predicted, passenger demand came back, and now there’s an employee shortage?

The Senate should look in the mirror.... eliminate the 1500 hour rule, or at least knock it down to something that makes more sense... 1000 hours or 750 hours, and you'll see things improve some.

absolutely not. If the regionals want pilots they can pay them.

we already have paths for 1000 and 750 hours. We should not reduce safety requirements so people who have exploited labor for decades can continue to do so once they got bit by their own doings.

Nope I'm good with leaving the hour requirements as they are. As said above 750 if military or 1000 from 141 colleges.

These hearings are a joke. Nonstop "I'm sorry Senator I don't have that information in front of me."
