Any 40yr olds at DAL?

Not that I'm feeling old but... Heard a rumor that DAL won't hire high time (10K+) or old (over 40) guys? Any truth to that? Man... last go round I was too young with no time and now I'm too old with too much! Go figure?

Marty!

IF Delta has this restriction on age then it is their loss. Don't limit yourself to one company, or the majors altogether.

Can`t comment on present hiring practices, however when I was there, I gave I.O.E. to a 46 year old newhire. The E.E.O.C. surely won`t allow any age discrimination, if it`s provable.

Most military retirees are going to be about Age 42. I know plenty of them have gone to Delta.

My buddy is 39 who got hired today.
I had a friend of mine who was in class with me that had over 10K.

Basically they will want to know why you have so much time are are where you are, or why you are willing to start over (Non-military) at your current age. They cannot ask you the second question, but they do want to know. That is why having a friend walk your stuff up to the 5th floor is important. It means that you as well as they want it bad enough to take time out of your day to get you on here. Not just send some e-mail. Anyone can do that. Delta likes initiative.

Had a 54-year old in my DAL new hire class back in 2000.

I'm 40 and my 41 year old co-worker both got hired on the 23rd of May. They did not ask either of us about job changes, or "why Delta now?" I think it was obvious we both wanted Delta and neither of us was all that interested in CAL, or any of the other good choices out there.

If you are 40, you might want to pre-emptively get a thorough class I and blood work up. If you are overweight, have high cholesterol, or an iffy prescription for glasses, work on it before the interview.
