Wait what? Unless I missed when this thread drifted off the drug charges, are you suggesting that we could use tactical nukes over some drug charges? Glad it isnt your finger on the button.

lol. What are you talking about?!
How was a couple bags of drugs gonna affect the safety of the flight and the passengers.
those crewmembers are fighting a very long drawn out battle because of what happened. I would’ve definitely waited till I got back to the US or Canada where are you to have a more fair legal system

Uhhh. TATP? HMTD?
For that matter, pool shock and brake fluid. Or just KMnO4 and glycerin.
The number of chemical compounds that will down an aircraft without requiring a wire are damn near legion. Buy a beer for an EOD guy or a police bomb squad guy and he’ll rattle off a few dozen.

You ever play Russian roulette? You’ll win five out of six times. I wouldn’t recommend it though.

no, no, no we are not about to compare this to Russian Roulette.
bottom line. If I knew what I know now and I was in that crew’s situation…I definitely would think twice about alerting the “authorities” in the DR.
couldn’t imagine being in that situation.
not about to say: “Well maybe we should turn this in to the corrupt police because it could be a Nuclear weapon”
can’t believe I have to say that…

This thread is definitely one of APCs finest. A nuke? Really? 99.9% chance it's drugs and we have 8 pages of guys stomping their feet and insisting safety would be gravely compromised and the industry would grind to a halt if the crew left and reported it on US soil because what if it was a bomb. You know what? I'd rather go out in a fireball than rot in a South American jail. I'll take those odds. We have other saying drop me a reference of a company FOM or SSI Customs memo her on the internet so I can believe you. Jeez people. This ain't rocket surgery. There's a big difference between practical knowledge and book knowledge here. I bet very few of you have flown DC8s loaded with roses (and other things) from places like Bogota to MIA. You're all talking hypotheticals here until you've done it.
