Delta cuts flights this summer (as do others)

Delta is cutting 100 flights per day between July 1st and August 7th. There's also news (probably old) on cuts other airlines have made.

It was inevitable. Discretionary spending MUST plummet as people struggle to feed their kids.

Except that isn’t why they did it.

No! it’s because they wanted the airports less crowded because of ‘Rona

No no it’s cut because of $40B to Ukraine and no baby formula!

Joke now, but this is happening soon.

This summer is the boom of travel from all those who waited 2 yrs in the pandemic and never went anywhere, now going out with a vengeance. This will die down. And then we will see, as the pandemic taught us, people don’t really have to fly. With gas, energy, food, rent, mortgages all going up and a recession underway, demand for air tickets will drop off.

Myfingershurt 05-27-2022 11:00 PM

Yeah, demand will probably drop off mid September. We’ll prob see peaks in late November and late December the lows again until March. You know, like every other year.
