This was really the main difference I could think of. We like it in CLT so I was going to attempt the commuting life for at least 12 months. I'm sure my wife will be ready to move to EWR after a year of me losing a day on each side of the trip and not helping with the baby.

I agree with others . At this point pick the airline that has a hub you can see your self living most / all of your career .
both great choices , Delta has done a ton of hiring for the last several years so seniority could take a hit there .
that being said I know from flying the route often , CLT-EWR is a tough commute for the United guys .

If you don't like jam-packed, I have bad news about the 2nd jump seat on a SWA 73 while you're trying to get to work.
