Default Delta pays $10k to bump passengers.

So $10k per bump. Guys, these bump costs are getting insane. Surely this is going to put a damper on profits. What a horrible time to have all 3 legacies in contract negotiations.

This happens when the plane is boarded and then over booked pax show up at the last minute demanding to get on. It looks really bad dragging pax off the plane, (remember that DR. ?)

Wait until Bernie gets his way and it’s $55k per passenger for a canceled flight due to “understaffing”

And before you say “that would never happen,” I would remind you to read the title of this thread and ask how far stupid has got at this point?!

If Bernie gets his way there will only be one airline, and only one class.

And aircraft will be propelled by (green) pixie dust.

Excess demand. Time to raise ticket prices. Significantly to get demand back in balance.

I would agree, but then the same geniuses at DOT and in the Senate (i.e. Pete, Bernie, and Blumenthal) who are complaining about the delays would complain that airfares are too hight.

If a transcon cost $99, they'd still complain that airfares are too high. My response to that is it's Econ 101. Or just ignore them; they're generally all bark and no bite.

Have you looked at the prices lately? They are about 3X from 6 months ago.

And planes are still full. So I guess that means time for another increase in fares. Something about “supply and demand”
