Not if there are 87 genders. (Not that I am saying that).

But you have to sit on the plane AND THEN DRIVE TOO!

I would not have to drive, I'm very close to the airport which I would commute out of, if I did commute (I don't).

I wonder if anyone has done a study on what pilot's life expectance is on whether they flew or drove to work their whole career? Very curious

Probably to many variables. Being single vs married, working out 3 days a week, stress relief practices, and many more things to take into account.

Commuting you loose the chance of being paid to sleep in your own bed.

Why just AS when DL also gets you SEA based? I get the Eskimo has larger hub and history there, but I don't see DL leaving.

SEA base is pretty junior at DL, lots of overall movement akin to UA, with pretty jr captains in SEA. More variety than AS with SEA 737/320/220/330 domiciles. Nice workrules (reserve is 12hr min callout, mostly 24+ notice). WB reserve mostly sit at home with a long leash.. reserve goes senior. I would guess peak AS pay and QOL can be attained much faster at DL, and DL has a higher overall peak. Do you have an interview or CJO at AS? Otherwise DL should be seriously considered.

UAL had a SEA base too. If times get bad DL could close SEA and not miss a beat. If Alaska closed SEA the company would be dead. Safer bet with AS in SEA.

This COULD be coming back. On the narrow body side at least. Town Hall tomorrow is the rumored release of new bases.

I won’t try and change your mind, as I think leaving for AS would be a good decision.

Commuting is absolutely horrible…
