The smartest thing the union could do is shut the doors on CAL-ALPA and move it to a neutral location where a big group of pilots don't live. Most everything is done via phone, fax, and email anyway. And when the company or the union needs to meeet, fine. Fly down. We'd still save money over the full time managament wanna bees that sit down there 10 minutes from their homes with pools and outdoor kitchens and outright steal from the line pilots.
As long as CAL-ALPAs offices are located in Houston you will never be able to create a credible strike threat at CAL. Anybody who thinks otherwise is just drinking the same kool-aide just from a different container.

Honestly, big houses and no real cost of living issues and they don't want the boat rocked.

Sounds like Congress eh??? Comes from the top. Corrupt Country, leads to corrupt politicians, leads to corrupt businesses, leads to corrupt management, leads to corrupt personnel, leads to ticked off consumers who complain about everything . . . . BUT they never vote. Oh Well! Apathetic! Ya get what ya vote for. In this case "Nothing"

They are very much in the minority we have almost 5000 pilots and those you speak of number less 600 and will be less then a few hundred in a few years.
Our pilot group today is not like the CAL of the last twenty years I think you will be pleasantly surprised as to our resolve and unity.

I agree with the above about sleeping on the airplane. Not only which CA agreed to this bull****. What FO agreed with the CA??? There is no way in hell I would have slept on that airplane. People need to use their damn brains. I looked up that Houston Chronicle article also. Kellner total comp last year 6.5 million. Next 3 were at about 3 million each in total comp. Here's my position on that. Good for them! Now it's time for us to get a little of that money for ourselves. They are doing there job for the shareholder and getting compensated for it. We are doing a hell of a job for CAL and it's time we get industry leading pay and benefits. Don't settle for anything less. Quit talking...do the job the best, get paid the best. Nuf said.
