They had the bargaining power after 9/11. Now the ball is in our court. We lead the industry and the compensation should reflect it.

Not a kool aid boy here but we are doing a descent job right now. Here is one example from Fortune.
Continental rated top airline by FORTUNE.
Publication: Airline Industry Information
Date: Friday, March 3 2006
Subject: Airlines (Rankings), Airlines (Market share)
Company: Continental Airlines Inc. (Rankings), Continental Airlines Inc. (Market share)
Location: United States
AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) has said that it has been rated the top airline on FORTUNE magazine's annual airline industry list of Most Admired Global Companies.
According to the airline, it is the third year
it has topped the list. Continental reportedly also ranked as the most admired airline on FORTUNE's annual America's Most Admired airline industry list.
Corporate and airline executives, boards of directors and industry analysts ranked the airlines based on nine attributes: innovativeness, employee talent, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment value, quality of products and services, and 'globalness'.

CAL has won more domestic and international awards since 1996 than any other US airline. As far as customer service, product, and fleet we are definitely one of the top carriers. Additionally, we are an all BOEING fleet.
Unfortunately, the pilot group and other employees don't force the company to compensate accordingly.
Obviously, you know what airline we are with. My question to you is, what airline are you with?
Since you are a 727CA hopefully you are with FedEx or UPS and in that case I'd say contract wise you are in a great spot but beyond those carriers being a 727CA leads me to believe you might be at a second tier carrier. And in that case...Oh, never mind.

CALPilotToo makes a good point, the airline itself is doing great but the work rules and pay in comparison are terrible, lets hope change comes soon, starting with this Monday, good luck boys everybody is hoping for some big changes...........

CAL leading the industry?
United: largest widebody fleet, world's largest airline.
NWA: Largest Asian/Pacific presence
Delta: Largest European presence, future China route from ATL, ALL BOEING FLEET
CAL: lowest starting pay. 8 bankruptcies under its belt. How many international flights? Praying for a buyout from one of the above.
Please... drink a little more Kool-Aid
