Default Delta Flight 73

Looks like Delta went NORDO while crossing the Maastricht FIR this week. The link below is to the ATC tape of two Dutch F-16's (Juliet 33 & Juliet 54) intercepting the DAL B767. (I think the audio is time compressed).

MP3 Audio file of ATC dialog

What really got my attention was at the end of the file with the two F-16's reporting "[weapons arming] switches safe" Also, interesting how fast one can find the center frequency when you have a couple of fights join up on you.

The Delta pilot sounded like he had a little pucker factor on his radio transmissions!! Thanks for the post. Made me smile, only because it was not me.

No kidding, I'll take Asia any day over Europe. You have to talk to WAY to many controllers over there, and your over a new country every five minutes.

, way to many controllers because there is sometimes way to much traffic... And frequency change every 5 minutes is possible, but you will still be overhead the same country :P
