Sitting rsv in CA base - income tax?

Then hope you never see the same cop again.
They also have a snitch website for your crashpad neighbors to report you:
https://www.chp.ca.gov/Notify-CHP/ch...rs)#chpregForm
You MIGHT be able to talk your way out of that, but the process is a hassle. On the other hand, if you DO register your car in California, FTB will probably rule you are a resident.

WHEN STOPPED (and you might well be), show them your out of state drivers license, MATCHING out of state registration, MATCHING out of state insurance, and tell them I just got here on (whatever date you last flew in on),. Do NOT tell them, “Oh, this is my California beater I leave parked in employee parking between trips.”
Then hope you never see the same cop again.

And snitches...
Guess Uber&Lyft...
Definitely lean more left, but it really is hard to like CA.

You can get away with it most likely, people do all the time. Maybe don't park right in front of the crashpad all the time. The fact that it's often out of sight out of mind at the employee lot will help.
They're probably tolerant of seeing the same AZ and NV plates occasionally... lots of people travel back and forth for various reason. If you have Connecticut plates, might want to get some Navy bumper stickers.
If it's an airport beater and you get hassled, just swap it out for a different beater.
Don't get North Dakota plates by mail, they know anyone can do that without ever setting foot in the state so they get triggered when they see ND plates. They assume you're dodging smog, which is probably a worse crime than dodging their taxes.
