SWA Capt incapacitated in Flight

Pilot became medically incapacitated inflight. From another thread in the SWA forum a NetJets pilot came up to work the radio while the F/O flew. A nurse passenger attended to the pilot. Not a jumpseater, NJA pilot's aren't in CASS. They fly on regular tickets.

Why move to the left seat? So you can finally steer it? I’d command from where I do best. They can come get me if we can’t make a high speed. Sorry y’all, you don’t get to debate my choice! LOL. Good job to all and I wish a speedy recovery.

Going from right to left seat isn’t as easy as some people think that may have never done it. Scan is different. Things are in different places. The muscle memory is all backwards. Takes a few sims to adjust and a bit of flying to fully transition. don’t try to switch seats and be a Maverick during an emergency situation.

it’s specifically stated at b6 that you are not allowed to do that. You are trained to fly it as a solo pilot from the right seat, so you should stay in the right seat.

if I was in that southwest pilot situation. I would just take my socks and shoes off and fly with my feet! Only take a few moments to get used to, but a great opportunity to try now that you don’t have a skipper telling you not to do it.
