Had a friend interview last week. PD said no more interviews after August until beginning of 08. Also, anyone hired from their interview class last week should expect a class in summer 08.

hey thanks for the info. will have my type on aug 19th. interviewed in june and was on the last DB. what would be your estimate on a class based on what you are hearing?

Assuming some of the guys in last week's interviews already had the type, you would be pooled behind them. If they are being told June 08, you will be after that. As others have said, that is a long time frame and things could change either direction. SWA only officially skeds classes about 6 weeks out, so anything beyond that is just a projection and is easily adjusted. FWIW, most of the time, the PD folks are pretty close with their predictions...They were a little too aggressive with their projected hiring needs, but I do not think even GK had decided they would slow growth so much until very recently.

Just as a point of reference, my pool date is April 9th and no class date yet. I've heard that the classes on 1 and 15 August are now filled and there may be a class on 22 August - I don't think anyone has been called for this one yet. Then I've also heard maybe 2 classes in September and rumours of December or January Classes. Good Luck everyone. Better to be in the pool than not!

I have a 22 May pool date and right now my best guess is Jan or Feb.

I typed in late May, submitted my app in late May, and now I'm looking at a possible Summer/Fall 08 class IF I get hired?! I'm more likely to get hired by UPS or FedEx sooner........this really sucks! My app has got to be on the top of the stack for the next round, but it's looking like that could be quite a while. :mad:

How many other people out there were expecting the interview email and didn't get it???

Hundreds... I submitted my app w/ type in Jan and waited until June to get an invite for a July interview.

Two guys in my squadron are sitting in the same boat as you. They have a bunch of hours w/ the type and are just waiting for the interview.

You should be real close. I know they are filling Aug 15 with the last few day of March and first few in April. I would guess you would be in the Aug 22. How many guys did you interview with that had the type and were accepted.

Just spoke with HR today, they said that 2-3 classes in august, possibly 2 in september, not confimed yet , none in Oct or Nov, maybe 2 in Dec. Then still open for first quarter of next year. My pool date is on june 10th. not sure exactly how many in front of me. Hope this helps to anyone else wondering. Things also change, this is the airline industry. HR also said that I would be looking at 1st qtr of 08 for a class date.
