Pan Am is hiring pilots for a new CTL base to accommodate the NASCAR pit teams. The interviews are being conducted at Sanford FL to which you need to spend your own $$$ to get there for the privilege of working for another bottom feeder company… golly gee.

Was not really paying attention,(But a friend of mine during a recent phone call mention this:) but I think an outfit called "Ready-Jet-Go" out of Atlanta is looking to hire 727 crews for Nascar flying, they are using the Boston-Maine certificate. "Ready-Jet-Go" is in the same building and using the same equipment of the late TransMeridian Airlines.

I can confirm that there are two Pan Am 727's sitting at the FBO in CLT. Sounds like a true rumor.

My brother has a close friend that once flew for Pan Am III. Avoid them! They are only operating Jetstreams for now and the 727s are only being used for charter operations. Stay away!

I think that just about sums it up. Pan Am three is not for me. :D

My father was a 747 captain for Pan Am. Needless to say, he is totally disgusted with this version.

Also (I forgot to mention this in my last post), I met a Pan Am III 727 crew in Bermuda a few years ago. Not a happy crew to say the least. The FO told me he was doing that until something better came along. He seemed like a nice guy so hopefully he landed on his feet.

They actually had a route network at one time with most of their flights going to Sanford using 727s. They served secondary airports such as Portsmouth, NH, Gary, IN, Bangor, ME and even MidAmerica Airport. They were and still are horribly managed.

They fired all of their union guys a few years ago. That resulted in a lawsuit in which the company prevailed. They transferred their operations to Boston-Maine which was a feeder for Pan Am III 727s and they now serve a few cities in the northeast using Jetsreams.

On a final note, Guilford Transportation, a railroad company that bought the airline out of bankruptcy, changed its name to Pan Am Railways. If you live in the northeast, as I do, sometimes you will see a freight car painted blue and with the Pan Am logo in white.

Tim, we all know this PA in no way resembles the true aviation pioneer and American Icarus that the original PA was. When I read this thread's title, I was like---"WHO?"

They'll always find somebody to fill their slots. They always do.

So let me et this straight...a member of your family got screwed by this sleazeball operation. And you're looking for information about how to get hired there?!?!??! Wtf? Pilots never cease to amaze me...

He was one of the union pilots fired. Too bad Pan Am isn't what it use to be. I asked him about the latest on Pan Am but he hasn't kept tabs on that airline since he left. I wonder though, are they still flying 727's out of Sanford?
