Pan Am hiring info??
 

Hey fellas! I was just curious if anyone had any information on Pan Am such as their mins, hiring info, pay, etc etc.... I haven't been able to find any info on them and I dont see Pan Am mentioned at all on the forums. HSLD, maybe we should get some info about them on the Central website. Thanks a million guys!! :)

Pan Am Clipper Connection is hiring Jetstream pilots with the following minimum qualifications:

Captain:
ATP with 1st Class Medical
3500 Total Time (PIC), 1000 hours PIC in Multi Engine aircraft with 250 Hours Turbine experience

First Officer:
Commercial/instrument/multi rating and able to obtain 1st Class Medical Required

1200 Total Time (PIC) and 100 Multi-Engine PIC experience.


-who with 1200 hours would pass up a job flying a beat up old jetstream back and forth from bedford to elmira and trenton 15 times per day....not that I wouldnt fly a jetstream because it beats a 172sp

I would stay away from PanAm III.

They started with 727s based in Portsmouth, NH. About two years ago they fired all the union pilots and offered to hire them back at a fraction of their original rates. Real class operation tarnishing a once great name in aviation.

I know, Pan Am has really been stripped of its dignity. My brother in law, who now flies for frontier, flew 727's for Pan Am III out of Sanford about 5 years ago. He was one of the union pilots fired. Too bad Pan Am isn't what it use to be. I asked him about the latest on Pan Am but he hasn't kept tabs on that airline since he left. I wonder though, are they still flying 727's out of Sanford?

Ok, if your brother in law flew for them, got canned, and they are still the same company, flying pax in 727s, to no real set markets and are the version III.......do you really want to work for this company? Perhaps there is a reason why there is no info on it.

Personally I would rather see the name rest in peace. It wasn't enough that the grand airline was sold off piecemeal, i guess it wasnt enough for the portsmouth operation to carry on the legacy with ridiculous fashion and now i guess they are metaphorically still raping the name with a part III out of yet another new airport, with much older equipment and the same clowns running the show.

Never said I wanted to fly for them. I simply wanted some inside information about them. Again, my brother in law couldn't provide any up to date info because he hasn't flown with them since 04. If there's info on GoJet at APC, I'm sure info on Pan Am wouldn't hurt.

How is that legal? And wouldn't pilot unions band together to blacklist or sanction against any pilot who worked for a company like that?

In fact if pilots did not talk half of the crAAp flying jobs out there just maybe our over all quality of live and pay would go up as a group. But instead they are jumping on this type of work hoping to one day win the lottery. We need to stick together and stop these types of operations but we do not.

"It is all about me":( but the sad fact is WE ALL PAY in the long run. :(

Shouldn't this be on the Regionals or Upstarts board? It's been a long time since Pan Am was a major..

I couldn't decide which it was. Its not really an upstart and not a regional. Anyway, I was just curious to see if anyone had any information on them.
