Anyone flying in the Northwest tonight see em? Seemed like there were a handful of us on freq. Have seen Starlink 3x in the past, this definitely wasn't it. Pretty cool.

Good chance just this phenomenon. With multiple satellites glinting in one part of the sky, they can fade in and out of view giving the impression of one target dancing around.

Yeah happened to me last week about 1-2 hours before sunrise East bound on a red eye. Different satellites orbiting around catching the suns reflection before fading. Since there are thousands of satellites orbiting around you’re just seeing a different one each time as it catches the sun just right before moving on. Makes it look they’re dancing around.

Last night off the coast of NC a meteor lit up the whole flight deck and by the time I looked out the window at about 4 oclock it looked like a flair fizzling out. Seemed pretty close, but who knows… Only thing cooler that I’ve seen was SpaceX reentering around 3am off the coast of Alabama. Although it was right after Russia invaded Ukraine, so there was a few minutes I thought I was witnessing WWIII starting. All of these satellite/space junk sightings just after sunset towards the west and just before sunrise in the east are boring. But it sure gets guard frequency going…

haha, i thought a nuke was inbound for a hot second when a dragon capsule was reentering. Or some skunkworks deal. ATC had no idea until the space nerds chimed in
