I'm sad to see him go. Those two are part of the original crew. Losing them is hard not because of their decision-making, but because of their influence and vision for SWA. Anyone can make business decisions, but I think SWA is going to have to work hard to maintain the vision and culture that makes Southwest the company it is.

Try this one. The original one still works--just need to drill down to the business section.

Give me a break. If you really think that Herb and Colleen would run out on SWA because they think the company is doing poorly, then you really don't know anything about SWA. They are leaving because they have both been there for a long time and it's time to move on. Herb will be 77 next year, I think he has earned the right to retire.

Neither one of them would just leave because things are going poorly at the company. And I don't think SWA is doing too bad right now. They have taken a few lumps recently, but they will bounce back nicely.

Yeah, a $287 MILLION dollar quarterly profit is nothing to sneeze at, especially since we have the lowest debt ration in the industry. Sure, we're nowhere near UPS-type numbers. But in reality, we're in two totally separate businesses.

As for Herb & Colleen retiring, of course I'll be sad to see them go. But they have both put in over 41 years into making Southwest the largest domestic carrier. I think they both deserve the chance to finally relax a little. Besides, they're not totally leaving, just giving up their leadership positions.

Hearty congratulations to both on a job well done.

You are an annoyance to all on these boards.

Blow your unfounded and mindless comments out your ass and save the rest of us the trouble of reading them.

Thanks!
