The main reason they were using to sell Age 67 to us is gone. Yet they are still using it to justify it.

Please just be honest why these people want Age 67. Stop with the lying BS.

And please just let it freaking die. The people who want it are in the minority. The pilot group doesn't want it. The majors don't want it. Only the regionals and people approaching 65 are wanting it.

With the pending clean-sweep regime change I would objectively say that age 67 is back on the radar this term, at least with a non-zero probability.

Second tier airlines (and probably NBAA, etc) in favor because the retirements aren't done and the only thing saving them right now is probably boeing.

ALPA opposed obviously, but this time they won't have much leverage.

Legacies opposed due to training churn.

I'd say the GOP will probably do what the Legacies (deepest pockets) want. But not a sure thing, all it takes now is for one powerful congressional leader to get a wild hair on this. The rank and file would then line up and salute, I doubt tea party folks care enough either way about something like this to disrupt it.

"Bu Bu Bu the expert bureaucrats are opposed!" isn't going carry any weight this time.

Are you aware that 10 countries to include, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and China support a higher age or no age? That no ICAO member state (to include the US) opposes an age change? That ICAO has started the process to raise the age?

Is what it is.

What makes you think that the Trump administration and the Republicans controlling both houses of Congress will not favor an increased pilot retirement age especially if ICAO goes higher?

Are you aware that is not what I found funny?

Exactly. It's not a controversial issue outside of our niche, and our niche is divided on it. Also, our niche doesn't make up enough of a voting bloc to really matter, at least not in any specific congressional district.
