SWA Done Hiring For Now?
 

FWIW this email is supposedly being sent out by SWA. It was posted on another forum. I went to the Southwest website and the event isn't posted anymore. Did anyone else who signed up to attend the Open House get this?

Unfortunately, we had to cancel the Open House for this year based on recent changes in our hiring numbers. Gary Kelly, our CEO, announced plans to reduce our growth from eight to six percent to ensure continued stability for current and future Employees. With this change, our current pool of Candidates, selected from completed interviews, will sufficiently accommodate our Pilot hiring needs for the foreseeable future.

Though we are humbly asking for your flexibility and don’t mean to discourage you in any way, you deserve an honest, accurate picture of our hiring outlook. Interesting, I just interviewed this month

Did the people dept happen to tell you when the decision board is going to meet next. I interviewed on June 28th and they told me sometime in Aug.

But its "fair". This is age 60 showing up in the planning departments...

Love where you are for 5 more years guys. The train is sllllloooowing down industry wide. Hiring with be for growth only, as attrition numbers across the industry will shrink.

I heard that they are done hiring in August, but if you already had an interview then your good even if it was in July. A friend of mine just got his references called from a Jul interview.

Yes, with about 300 in the pool, the interviews will slow quite a bit. When the economy picks back up, so will the deliverys and the interviews. Guys/Gals that just got the good news this last DB will not see the property till first quarter of 08.

got the call this week. type will be done by aug 16th. when would you guess i could be on property? any help appreciated!:)
