That was way too easy to fill out. What are the competitve mins gonna be, 10000 total/5000 747-400?

CRJammin 07-24-2007 12:36 PM

How long has it been since NWA last had a new hire class? Late 2001?

They had classes all the way up until 9/11.

FWIW, back then competitive was 5000+, with all the bells and whistles. The low stated mins are to cover the under represented demographics. Given how many pilots have been camping out in the Regionals flying CRJ's significant jet, 121 PIC, and TT will probably be the norm

does anyone have any idea if NWA is going to require the FE written.

I know you don't need it for what's online now but for those that are lucky enought to get that 30 day email will they need it then?

Hi!

NWA uses FEs on the 747-200. They don't have very many. I think all the FEs are either pros or pilots hitting age 60 and wanting to stay on.

I don't think you could even BID FE unless you were a very senior guy.

NWA guys-is the above about right???

No PFEs at NWA....just a lot of senior pilots including ROPES. ANC FE very senior

Eric Stratton 07-26-2007 03:54 AM

I know it's senior, I'm just wondering if anyone knows if it will be required because it's so senior.

need2fly 07-26-2007 05:48 AM

FE not required

Took me all of about 3 mouse clicks to get the info from their website.

Hi!

Off the NWA site:

Required Qualifications/Flight Time Minimums:
  • 1500 hours Total flight time
  • 1000 hours Multi-engine
  • 500 hours PIC
  • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate, Multi-Engine or ATP Written
  • First Class Medical
  • FCC Restricted Radio permit
  • Valid Passport with the ability to enter and exit all international destinations, including the ability to travel in and out of the United States
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule (including holidays and weekends)
  • Proficient reading, writing and speaking in English
  • Effective interpersonal, customer service, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen, medical exam and background check
  • High School graduate or equivalent (college degree preferred)

I'm assuming the above times are FW, but it actually doesn't say, so maybe RW is OK.

Total and PIC R/W probably OK, but the multi-engine is non centerline thrust non R/W.............

I thought I did? Last time they hired competitive numbers far exceeded stated minimums. If you are an female Native American I imagine they might be a little lower  Just like everywhere else. It is also market driven by the pool of availble talent. It'' be interesting to see what they average mins are this time round....
