How long on reserve at CAL???

Anyone know how long new hires are sitting reserve at CAL??? IAH vs EWR reserve? 73 vs 75/6? How long to hold a reserve line at IAH? How long to hold a regular line at IAH? And once again on the 73 vs 75/6?
Any response to some/all of these questions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

a friend of mine on the 756 in ewr can't even hold iah yet after 1 1/2 year so i'm guessing reserve is a long time in iah on the 756.

Houston is more senoir and everything will take longer. By the time you get a line in IAH on the 756 as an FO, you can hold 737 CA in EWR. Reserve times are much shorter in EWR than IAH. I've heard some say they were on reserve 1/2 month. I was on reserve EWR 737 FO for a couple of months. I never was on reserve in the 756.

I've got a CAL interview on 7AUG. The email they sent said that the sim eval is doine in a 737 sim. I was under the impression that is was in the MD-80 sim... Has this changed?

Yes. It seems we got rid of the MD-80 sim. I haven't been to the school house since Feb when I was in initial. The key to it is to study the procedures that they give you (focus on calling for the correct checklists at the appropriate time) and above all communicate with your crewmate. Use good CRM. They are looking at basic flying skills, ability to adapt to procedure and "your bedside manner". Good luck!

For the record I was on reserve at EWR in the 737 for 2 months.

But is it the -300, -500, or -800? I don't know myself. I did the DC-9 sim in '97.

You do all three in new hire training. Good luck with the interview.

True. 7/05 hire. 75/767 51% in EWR, 92% in IAH. Never been on reserve, got a line in training.

Thanks for all the responses. Does anyone know of any recent interviewees...and what 737 sim they flew? Is it worth getting a sim prep? I've been flying the B-717 the past few months...

The sim I flew was the 737-5. I imagine they'll all feel pretty much the same.
