How can anyone attacking another major US airline actually be serious? Almost everyone had multiple resumes out and took the first handshake to come along. We all know people at each major - and each has people with the exact same training and experience.
I have ridden jumpseat on them all as a commuter and have been equally impressed and unimpressed by all. Let it go...........

Seriously? I am sure FedEx puts some nice spin on the "quality" of the hiring and training that it does. However, the hull losses you guys have had sure speak volumes. If FedEx were a scheduled pax carrier they would have been shuttered for the number of crashes they have had.

If you are too tired to fly a safe airplane then you should not accept the flight. Maybe that is the difference, the UAL pilots have the orbs to say NO to an unsafe condition. I hope the UPS pilots are more concerned about safety than FE because I am going to start shipping all my stuff on them in hopes of my items arriving without being turned upside down and burned.
As to the benefit situation. Didn't you guys just recently get a B fund?

This coming from a LOSER who just lost his entire retirement (save the pennies on the dollar you'll get from the PBGC).
And oh by the way, it was back in '98 that we got the B fund.

I agree that we have been very fortunate at UAL to have a safety streak that could be snapped in an instant. However, the goobers that like to bash UAL as being somewhat inferior airmen really gets old. You guys have no data to back it up but you think you have all the answers. Why don't you educate yourselves or is too difficult to read in the dark?

No we did not lose our entire retirement. We kept the B fund and added a C-fund. 15% is the current input. Many have significant balances in their B-funds.

Current.... Well that is correct. It is the current pay rate. Hopefully it will go up. Are you confident you will never see a downturn in your career? If so good for you, but keep in mind things in this industry change on a regular basis. Good on you for thinking you are immune.
