I don’t even know what it was until looking it up and seeing a Comey article. 47 is current President, what is 86? He’s not 86 yrs old. And I’ve never heard the term 86 be used to describe anything violent. 86 as far as I know is an age and a birth year.

It means to get rid of something. If you would have ever worked in a restaurant as a kid, you would have heard it frequently.

A simple 2 minute search of this guys name against the UAL seniority list shows he’s not on it! A UAX carrier maybe?

I was going to say the same thing, I've always known it as "cancel" or "remove" etc. ie "86 the croutons".

Thats why this is so stupid. 86 originated from police 10-code. 86 isn’t the same as 187.

Comey may or may not have meant it to encourage violence, only he knows. He presumably arranged the seashells, but we don't know that either (he might have found them that way).

This does not amount to "beyond reasonable doubt", can't result in a conviction unless they have more evidence that hasn't been shared.

It's not necessarily "stupid" if the intent is to harass Comey, it's going to do that at least to some degree. If somebody expects an actual conviction, that would be stupid.

I'd give the UAL guy 50/50 on getting fired, now that it's very public. UAL may not want to get boycotted by 1/3 of the country. This is why I'm leaving the thread up, so dude can serve as a lesson to others... if you have a secure multi-million dollar career, don't post outrageous political commentary on SM.
