JetBlue Watch

Hello all,
I looked through the FAQ, and looked to see if there was a Classified Ad section, but I didn't see anything. So if this post offends anyone, I apologize. (Moderators can simply delete this if they choose.) Anyway...

Since I now fly Red-Bellied Warbirds, I thought I'd look kind of silly wearing a JetBlue Breitling watch. So I've listed mine on eBay. If you're a JetBlue pilot, and didn't get to buy one of the watches, here's a second chance for you. Please check out Item number 280140126691 on www.ebay.com .

Thanks,
BS

"I CANNOT ACCEPT PAYMENT VIA PAYPAL FOR THIS AUCTION. The 3% Paypal fee is too expensive for a watch like this, so I'll have to request either a money order, cashier's check, wire transfer, or escrow."

Sounds like a scam.

Well, I gotta ask. What is a red bellied warbird? My guess was Virgin America but I don't understand the warbird part.

Never mind . . I saw your position. I still don't undersand but that's not unusual.

No it isn't. In his bio section that he set up he normally accepts PayPal as a form of payment. But in this case he isn't willing to accept PayPal as mentioned in his comment section for this particular auction because 3% of what the watch will bring is too expensive.

I sell stuff all the time on Ebay and accept PayPal but if the item is over 1000.00 then I won't unless the person buying is willing to pay the 3% as a convenience to them. Learn to read disclaimers before you accuse someone of scamming.

Refusing to accept paypal also violates terms and conditions set by ebay- read the fine print- the reason is to protect the buyer from scams by using verified accounts......

He's not violating if the buyer wants to use PayPal and is willing to pay the PayPal service fee of 3%. He just needs to change the wording a bit to clarify that is all.

Herb Kelleher made a speach to the troops during the 90's when UAL started the "Shuttle". He stated that Southwest would not back down and would flight back with his fleet of "Red Bellied Warplanes":D

Fair enough.....

You can rest assured it's not a scam. If it were a scam, why would I clearly state that I'm willing to accept escrow? The reason that I stated that Paypal isn't allowed is that eBay specifically prohibits passing the 3% Paypal fee along to the bidders. If you don't want the watch, fine. But way to be negative and automatically think the worst about someone, especially when I said I'm open to escrow, which can only protect the buyer.

That is 100%, categorically false. Perhaps you should read the fine print yourself. eBay prefers Paypal (since they own it and make money off of that too), but noone has to use it. Jeez...rookies...
