SWA CEO Kelly on the Today show

Pretty good piece on air travel and SWA.

Great interview.

Kind of funny though. The report mentions the problems with air travel this summer and they invite Gary Kelly to interview, but none of the issues they mention really apply to Southwest.

Southwest doesn't serve EWR, LGA, or JFK

Southwest doesn't fly RJ's

Southwest doesn't have a pilot shortage

Southwest hasn't canceled a large number of flights

And Southwest leads the airline industry in ontime performance :p

Perhaps that was the point, and posiibly the reason the only airline CEO they could get was Kelly. Great PR for southwest.

Apparently, the Today Show is interviewing several airline CEO's this coming month. Here is a link for viewers to post questions to the CEO's.

I posted a question regarding CEO compensation and employee wages. Maybe some of you can post similar questions and a voice will be heard. Or maybe I'm just living in some sort of dream world.:o

Southwest does serve LGA. But otherwise, no they haven't had too much trouble.

Actually, SW does not fly into LGA. They code share with ATA, who flies to LGA.

I think Southwest codeshares with ATA and ATA operates the LGA flights eventhough Southwest displays LGA on their destination list.

yeah, that's what I looked at. Didn't know about the codeshare, just checked the route map.
