I don't think I'd be so bold as to call their actions "murder". Manslaughter isn't even a close charge. Just because airlines are cutting costs doesn't mean they are acting with malice. Especially since they train their pilots according to FAA mandated standards.

I'd be very surprised if CAL gets hit with this. But... the designers of the Concorde, on the other hand, could definitely be charged. Especially if they knew the wing tanks were vulnerable to damage from the outside (as the article indicates).
But this is like comparing apples to oranges when you compare this incident to the original post (#1) on this thread. |
Most people want a decent family home life as well. I know many who left the profession because today's pay, especially in the regionals simply doesn't provide 'til later in life. If you're single and love flying (or have an understanding wife with a well paying position who doesn't mind handling same along with the kids in your absence), it's not a problem. Otherwise? Not what it used to be before deregulation which brought many more opportunities/positions but otherwise generally negatively affected return on investment.
