SWA pool date vs class date
 

Anyone have any info on the pool dates of the dudes loaded into the Sept/Oct classes? My pool date is 21 Jun. Just curious...thanks in advance for the info.

My pool date was 4/21/07 and I have a class date of 9/5/07...

FTIW, I'm hearing that PD will hear something firm about the Oct class this week or next. They need abour 4 weeks to make notifications. If it goes, that will clear the pool to about May 16th, give or take a few stragglers for availability.

I spoke to the PD yesterday and got the following info:

There will be one class in October and probably not another one until after the first of the year.

Interviewing stopped last Wednesday and probably won't resume for a year.

When they resume interviewing, having the type rating would most likely be a requirement to get called for an interview.

Under the current plan, there are enough people in the pool to meet all of next year’s requirements.

HuronIP, did they say how many are in the pool? I have heard anywhere from 200 to 430. Anyone know the correct amount? Thanks.

Equate that to mean that anyone on the most recent DB and Sept's DB can probably expect a class date in FALL/WINTER of '08, as opposed to the 6-9 months that was put out at interviews and phone calls.

The next time I see one of the ladies I will ask, but if I remember correctly it's around 350 with the last DB included.

I wonder how many of those 382 do not have the type rating yet?

At least one :D The actual # is probably well North of 100. The majority of my interview group and one of my bud's were non-rated. Didn't seem to matter in the call/letter ratio. The type question did not come up in my interview. I don't think they care one way or the other.

I know one guy with a May 9th pool date in the Sept. 19th class. I'm May 24 and they told me I'm three classes behind him. Seems like a lot for only two weeks difference.

Remember, you can't be in the pool with out a type rating. Pool date is established either 1) Interview date if you have a type rating, or 2) The day of your type rating, assuming you fax a copy to the PD that day.

Moral of the story is to get that type rating fast. As you can see, a couple of weeks means the difference of 2-3 classes.

i am aug 20 pool date with type. i spoke with pd this am and was told the 2nd quarter of 2008. FYI

I understand that but if you ask the PD how many are in the pool they will tell you how many have continued on in the process. The 387 number is all the people in the pool with and without type ratings. It is how many people that have been selected to move on in the process. And I agree you are not officially assigned a place in the deep end until you get your type if you interviewed with out it. Happy swimming.
