I wont say new hires are going to widebodies but a least the bid that closed early Aug had unfilled vacancies on 757/767. dca 4, ord 7, lax 10, sfo 7.

The bid at end of Aug. had numerous unfilled vacancies on narrowbody fleets around system led by A-320 in dca 26 unfiled.

Back in late 90s new hires went into widebody fleet. Had some catches though if I remember right.

I interview next week. The intel I have gathered is that be prepared to brief a Jepps approach plate. Be prepared to discuss descent rates (3:1 stuff), hydroplaning, and other of that neat pilot stuff you learned a long time ago. I anticipate they will ask you/me to explain one, if not more, of the systems on the aircraft we are currently flying. If you can handle the technical questions from the Delta gouge, I don't think it will be more difficult at the UAL interview.

Brush up on some TMAAT scenarios you encountered. Standard questions involve testy situations w/ pax, possible late departures, conflict w/a crew member, etc.

Unfortunately, there is the confidentiality agreement. What I discussed above is from folks who were hired several years ago. I don't think it will be much different minus the browbeating(s).

Good luck.
